Mr. Holt has been the band director at Wauconda High School since 2011, where he conducts the concert bands, marching band, pep band, jazz band, and musical pit. Prior to arriving at Wauconda High School Mr. Holt taught both middle and high school band in central Indiana for seven years, the last five serving as the band director at McCutcheon High School in Lafayette.

In addition to teaching, Mr. Holt continues to look for performance opportunities as a percussionist. In Indiana he played in the Purdue Symphony Orchestra and Lafayette Citizens Band, taught private lessons, and served as a judge for ISSMA Solo and Ensemble festival and IBA All-State auditions.

Mr. Holt received his BME at Indiana University, where he studied percussion with Gerald Carlyss and Wilber England and conducting/band methods with Ray Cramer, Stephen W. Pratt, David Woodley, Dr. Lissa May, and Dr. Douglas Stotter. At IU, he performed in the Marching Hundred, Crabb Band, Wind Ensemble, Concert Orchestras, and the Percussion Ensemble. He is also currently completing coursework for his Masters degree at the American Band College through Sam Houston State University.
