Ed is thrilled to be rehearsing and performing alongside the fine musicians of the Chicago Brass Band as a new member.  He has been a middle school band director in the south and west suburbs of Chicago for 11 years.  He earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and he earned his Master of Music degree from Northwestern University.

Ed served on active duty for 5 years in the U.S. Navy as a trumpet instrumentalist.  He performed in ceremonial bands, jazz ensembles, wind ensembles, brass quintets, and as a solo bugler as a member of the U.S. Naval Forces Europe band in Naples, Italy and the U.S. Fleet Forces Band in Norfolk, Virginia.

He also marched with Pioneer Drum & Bugle Corps in the summer of 1998 as a mellophone bugle player.

Ed shares his life with his wonderful wife Megan and their infant son Thomas.  His hobbies include homebrewing, cheering for the White Sox and Arsenal F.C., and trying to find time to practice around his son’s napping schedule.
