Bryce grew up in Downers Grove, Illinois, and spent his formative years singing or playing any instrument in any group that would have him. He was an active church musician, and picked up the cornet at age 10. After years of bouncing around the brass section, he settled on the Euphonium just before college and attended Northwestern University, studying Euphonium Performance with Rex Martin.

After graduating from Northwestern, Bryce joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ (now Cru), and was assigned to Berlin, Germany to do campus ministry. After two years learning to talk and think like a German, Cru brought him back to the states and assigned him to Bloomington-Normal, Illinois, where he currently resides.

Bryce plays with many ensembles and teaches a private studio of brass musicians, along with continuing his ministry with Cru across the Central Illinois area, and is thrilled to have the opportunity to play this season with the Chicago Brass Band.
