Bryce grew up in Downers Grove, Illinois, and spent his formative years singing or playing any instrument in any group that would have him. He was an active church musician, and picked up the cornet at age 10. After years of bouncing around the brass section, he settled on the Euphonium just before college and attended Northwestern University, studying Euphonium Performance with Rex Martin.

Music took a back seat for a time after college, as Bryce joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ (now Cru), and was assigned to Berlin, Germany to do campus ministry. After two years learning to talk and think like a German, Cru brought him back to the states and assigned him to Central Illinois.

After nearly a decade in campus ministry, Bryce felt the call to go back to music full-time and is in his 2nd year as a Masters student and graduate assistant studying Euphonium with Dr. Andy Rummel at Illinois State University.  Bryce and his new bride Trisha reside in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois, and he's very thankful that his wonderful wife allows him to make the trek up to Chicago to play with this amazing band every week!  This will be Bryce's 3rd year with CBB (2 years on Baritone), and he can't wait for another season!
