Bennett Konstans grew up in Aurora, Illinois before attending the University of Illinois where he earned his degree in Music Education. While studying at Illinois, Bennett also had the opportunity to take classes in Jazz Studies and perform with the Marching Illini for all four of his years at Illinois, serving as a section leader for two of those years. In addition to performing in the Marching Illini at Illinois, Bennett also played Lead Trumpet in the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps during the summers of 2011 and 2012. He has continued to teach DCI drum corps in every summer since 2013.

Bennett currently teaches elementary and middle school band in Aurora, Illinois. In addition, he is also the NIU Huskie Pep Band Director, works with the NIU Huskie Marching Band, plays with many musical groups around the Chicagoland area, and has written and arranged music for groups ranging from middle school bands to collegiate marching bands. When he is not teaching, playing, or writing music, Bennett spends his (very little) free time playing & watching sports and spending time with his friends and family.
